Interview Story
A local 22-year-old college student has starred in both a film and a Hooters commercial, has been to Sydney, Australia and visited the film set from the Hobbit film series. Grace Dresher did all of this before the age of 20, and she has no intention of slowing down. She effortlessly lives up to her name, carrying herself with poise, positivity, and passion.
Her Story
Dresher currently lives at home with her parents, two dogs Bubba and Odie and is about to start her new job as a caregiver for a girl with down-syndrome. She lit up as she talked about her new occupation, and her current activities as well. Dresher volunteers at South Hanover Fire Company 47 and is also the company’s photographer. “I hope to bring in some prize money from the photos” she said, hoping that the money will help go towards the fire department. Always searching for ways to push herself creatively and academically, Dresher revealed that her early childhood often consisted of reading. “I read everything,” she said. Constantly reading allowed her to challenge herself and has since resulted in extreme academic success.
Although she enjoys time in solitude, Dresher also loves being around friends and family, and you can’t help but assume they love being around her. One of the highlights of her college experience thus far, has been joining the sorority Kappa Beta Gamma. “Just the bonds I’ve made with people will last a lifetime” she said blissfully. She revealed that she was in a dark place before joining. In January of 2019, Dresher was the victim of a horrific car accident. She was left with permanent damage around her cheek and had to use crutches for 3 months because the entire right side of her body was sprained. Now, with the help of her sorority sisters, she is happier and brighter than ever. As far as plans, Dresher wants to get her Bachelor’s in Communications. She also wants to start a family and maybe even become a foster parent. “I want to give them a chance,” she said. Her desire is to have a plentiful, joyful life. Dresher doesn’t seem to be anxious about the future, but instead seems to gleefully enjoy life day by day, as we all should. This, and many other reasons are why she is destined for tremendous success.
